More about the Twisters

Hello 2012 Boys Soccer Parents:

My name is Jeff Hill and I am the current soccer coach for the 2012 Twisters Boys Travel Team.  I have over 29 years of coaching experience and also serve as the Director of TSC Soccer. My credentials include a National D License and a National Coaches Association GoalKeepers License. I have led several teams to earn ICSL league and tournament titles. In 2011, I had the privilege of being part of a Towamencin boys team (a fantastic group of young men) that won a national title in the US Soccer Presidents Cup that took place in Des Moines, Iowa. Some of these young men went on to play college soccer at D2/D3 schools. Since then, I have coached boys teams that have had as many as 8 players participate on the North Penn men's soccer team and have had several players become captains at both North Penn HS and Christopher Dock HS.

Last August, the Twisters were finalists at the prestigious Gettysburg tournament, losing out in the finals in a PK shootout with a round of 8 shooters. The first year together, the team won the division 4 (7v7) title in their inaugural season playing competitive soccer at the U10 age group in the ICSL league. The boys have continued to play well together, competing on the 9v9 field during both their U11 and U12 seasons, moving up a division every year.

This is a big year in the development of the boys as we will be moving up to a much bigger field and more players on the pitch (11v11). For our North Penn families, some of the boys will be headed to middle school to begin their 7th grade year which will bring new opportunities and changes. The assistant coaches and myself will be looking to improve the teams tactics and the individual players tactics along with fitness, endurance, and continuing to work on individual ball skills.  We will also continue to promote good sportsmanship and teamwork. Most importantly, I want the boys to have fun and to develop a love for the game.

I would like to invite your soccer player to the 2024/2025 TSC travel soccer team tryouts. Dates and times will be kept up-to-date on the TYA website: https://tyasports.org/soccer/twisters/

With the team moving to 11 v 11, the players will be using a size 5 ball and we will look to carry a total of 16-18 players for the fall season.

The costs for travel soccer are as follows:

  • All TSC players MUST register prior to tryouts. The registration for travel tryouts is a non refundable $20 fee and this registration can be found at the website listed above. Full refunds will be granted if a player chooses not to play. New for this year: Travel soccer players who are chosen and accept the offer to join the team, will register and pay club fees of $145 plus a travel fee of $105.
  • New players and returning players will be responsible for any and all travel uniform items. We use Score Sports as our uniform supplier. Information will be provided after the team is selected.
  • Each new player will  need to purchase a team uniform that consists of 2 jerseys, 2 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of socks, and a practice shirt. The cost for uniforms is approximately $125 or so depending on how much is ordered.
  • Trainings or tournaments may be organized throughout the summer and fall. These fees vary by event and will be based on team participation, collected by the team treasurer. This team fee will cover the cost of the teams tournaments and any additional cost for trainings, such as the team camp.
  • This team will participate in a team camp run by the Philadelphia Union youth training group.
  • We will provide unbiased evaluators at each tryout. I hope to provide team offers around the 28th of April.

I look forward to seeing your son participate in tryouts and encourage him to bring a friend along if they are interested in playing competitive soccer. If you have any questions regarding the team or tryouts, please contact me via email at hej4242@aol.com.

Regards,
