About TYA Soccer

The Towamencin Soccer Club (TSC) is a family friendly nonprofit organization of dedicated volunteers to promote youth soccer.  TSC is committed to offer a fun, competitive environment to fuel the passion of soccer thru professional training, sportsmanship and teamwork on and off the soccer field to meet the players full potential.

If you want to learn the exciting game of soccer and have loads of fun at the same time, then our intramural program may be just for you. This program offers the very best in recreational soccer – giving players the opportunity to learn the sport, develop life-long skills such as teamwork and sportsmanship, and just have fun. Whereas, our travel soccer program is geared to higher levels of competitive play, our intramural program is devoted to the enjoyment of the sport, while helping players learn the basic skills and techniques to be successful.

This is a 10-week program, starting in early August and running through early October. The season culminates in a one-day tournament. Our intramural program is separated into divisions based on age -- ranging from age 4 all the way up to age 19. Players at each age group are placed into teams.

Our Rec Select Soccer program is designed for intramural players who are ready developmentally for the next level of play. It is designed to help transition intramural players into future travel players by enabling participants to play in a more competitive environment. NOTE: Keep in mind that travel players are not allowed to play on Rec Select teams.

The Rec Select season begins right after the intramural season ends. Players are “invited” to play based on their demonstrated skill sets and performance during the intramural season. Rec Select teams are then created based on each player’s abilities and commitment to the program, as well as evaluations by the rec select coaches.

Players must be available for full day tournament play during certain fall weekends. Our Rec Select teams have the option to play in 2 or 3 weekend tournaments that take place from late October to early December. Girls teams typically play tournaments on Saturdays, while boys typically play on Sundays.

Our travel soccer program provides a highly competitive training and playing environment for those players who have the necessary skills, athletic ability, and commitment to the game of soccer. It involves a substantial commitment of time, energy and money – from both the player and his/her family. Unlike intramural soccer where everyone gets to join a team regardless of playing ability, making the roster and staying on the roster of a travel team is totally dependent on the individual’s skills and athletic abilities.

Our travel soccer program runs throughout the entire year. Players are traditionally recruited in early spring (March thru May). Final team rosters are completed by the end of May. Teams often compete in Spring and Fall Leagues, as well as weekend tournaments. Many teams also compete in indoor Winter sessions.
