Coach Pitch – A Ball (Ages 6 to 7)

Instructional League

Coach Pitch is a noncompetitive league intended for youngsters in their second or third year of playing baseball (6 and 7 years old). The games are played on a 50-foot diamond (approximately), with coaches pitching a Reduced Injury Factor (RIF) baseball. The emphasis is on putting the ball in play. Games are scheduled only within a given division; there is no inter-divisional play. This league features an All-Star Day skills competition during the TYA Softball/Baseball All-Star Day event.

Since Coach Pitch is set at the Instructional League level, emphasis is on skill development and knowledge of the game. No score or standing are kept, and there are no playoffs. Coaches are very involved on the field during games for these leagues.
