What is "TYA"?
The Towamencin Youth Organization (TYA) is an independent, volunteer-based, 501(c)3 organization offering organized youth sports programs in the greater Towamencin Township area. We currently provide 2,000+ boys and girls, from ages 5 to 18, with the opportunity to play in four different sports – basketball, baseball, softball and soccer. That number amounts to fielding over 300 teams each year!
TYA baseball and softball programs are primarily played in the spring; soccer in the summer and early fall, and basketball in the late fall and winter months. Each sport also offers additional programs during their "off" seasons as well. Our organization offers several levels of competition – including instructional and intramural, as well as select and travel teams. Regardless of the level of a child’s ability, TYA's mission is to provide a fun and rewarding experience for all kids.
What is Our Mission?
TYA has been committed to providing safe, fun, cost effective, and enjoyable youth programs for the children of our community. Our goal is to provide a program which teaches the fundamentals of each sport, along with sportsmanship, respect, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a competitive spirit -- all key qualities that help our youth become responsible and productive adults. This has been the hallmark of TYA for nearly 50 years; a mission which we continue to follow today.
